The homes and shelter facilities we build and renovate are beautiful, welcoming, and comforting, but they are missing some of the most basic items that a person needs to recover from homelessness and get back on their feet. Filling refrigerators with much-needed food or homes with new kitchen utensils and bathroom supplies is just one way that your volunteering efforts can make a positive difference in someone’s life!

Donate to our Third Annual “Builders for Babies” collection drive today!
Builders for Babies is simple in concept and execution: Organizations and individuals collect or purchase diapers and baby wipes for our communities’ littlest citizens (for those ordering online, request to ship directly to the HomeAid office). Then, we will deliver all of the donated products to emergency shelters and other housing and non-profit organizations, which will distribute them to those in need.
The initiative is critical: The cost of disposable diapers can be as high as $70-80 per month, per baby (nearly $1,000 per year!)—a huge expense for families already struggling to get by. It can mean the difference between struggling parents trying to stretch supplies by leaving diapers on their babies longer than they should, or even trying to clean out and re-use dirtied diapers, leading to painful diaper rash and discomfort.

Fill the Fridge for families moving out of homelessness and into a new home. Collect gift cards so that families can buy milk, fruit, and other perishables for a healthy start in their new home!
Utilize your special skills and interests to help shelter residents!
Are you great at organizing in a small space? Can you show someone the basics of cooking or healthy eating? Could you teach yoga or take a great family photo? Do you have other skills or special talents that you would be willing to share with a small group of clients experiencing homelessness seeking to better their circumstance and become productive citizens in our community? If so, HomeAid can match you with one of our shelter partners interested in having you share your skills with others. We are seeking a multitude of skills and interests so please let us know how you would like to participate.
Join a HomeAid Event Committee!
Our team of committed volunteers ensures the success of our largest annual event, our Annual Gala & Auction! Gala Committee members are involved in planning the event and bringing the theme to life through decor, entertainment, and set-up. They also assist with raffle and auction procurement, as well as registration.
